17 Again

If you’re only as old as you feel then I feel, like the movie, 17 Again!

Boot and crutches

Except, of course, on rainy days or snowy days or days of barometric changes. Then my back, shoulder, knee and ankle remind me that 17 is so far back down the road I can barely see it anymore!

Is there a story behind each of these? O yeah!

What pains make you realize earlier days have flown? Is there a story behind it?

  1. My knees are great reminders of my misspent youth and my own mortality. For that, I guess I should thank them – they not only remind me to be more efficient (Um.. better get the paper AND the mail at the same time today…) but they are truly great weather indicators. (I’d heard my grandmother say stuff like that when I was little but I could hardly credit her knees with state-of-the-art weather forecasting. Now, however, I can…) And last as well as possibly least – and this may sound tacky – but when I visited a church of a different denomination I felt confused and a little conflicted about kneeling, sitting, standing, etc. But it turned out to be not a problem. My knees were “acting up” (the weather was changing) and so all I could really do was just sit, sing, pray, and listen. Which suited me fine. (In my case, it wasn’t “Here I stand” but rather, “Here I sit… a lot…”)
